Watermelon that is. When you look on the label of ketchup ingredients it contains the word antioxidant that effects lycophene. Lycophene is the chemical that makes tomatoes red, also may protect against heart disease, and cancers. Surprise surprise! U.S Department of Agriculture says 1 cup of watermelon has 40% more lycophene than the same amount with tomatoes. Watermelon is also fat free and has the vitamins A, B6, and C. It increases levels of arginine that boosts up the immune system, improve joint functions, and helps heal wounds. I knew tomatoes weren’t worth the taste, ick! I love watermelons but unfortunately I recently got allergic to them so this sad news for me but for the rest of you, go eat your watermelons while they’re still in season!
Ever wanted to eat a lemon without the taste of the bitterness? Now you can for a whole hour with this dissolving pill. The plant called Synsepalum dulcificum makes berries that blind the tongue thinking what you’re eating is sweet. This can be perfect for those toilet-dunked geeks at school who gets forced to eat who knows what and can get away with it at the same time. Be wary though, there are disadvantages to this as well. If you eat too much sourness in your system you may be in greater risk to get oral ulcers.
From Wikipedia:
“The effect of Miracle fruit is made possible by contact with the tongue, not through digestion. For this reason, tablets must be allowed to dissolve in the mouth. The most pronounced effect can be achieved by coating the entire tongue in a paste of Miracle fruit for up to 30 seconds.
The tablets are currently very difficult to get outside of Asia, where they are popular among diabetics and dieters. However, in many countries they can be purchased on the Internet.”
This can be purchased at sites such as Thinkgeek.com which is currently out of stock due to high demand.
Yesterday me and my boyfriend bought Mochi Ice cream for the first time, together atleast. May I say the taste was out of its world! The soft/gooeyness and the icecream flavored fillings…to die for. Coincidentally when I looked for more information about this on google, it was the same brand that was listed on top. It was originally made by the company Yukimi Daifuku in 1981. This has been out since then? What have I been missing out on all these years. The only drawback in this is the calories…wow! 350 calories for 1 cup of this goodness.
There’s a new drink that hit the market in Japan this month. It’s called Unagi Nobori or Surging Eel. It’s basically made out of the extracts from the head and bones of eels. It does offer some essential vitamins though such as A, B1, B2, D and E. I was pretty puzzled when I saw this news because I always thought eels were just a delicacy in terms of eating but now it’s drinking as well? Well this is definitely not my cup of tea but if you guys like the fishy tasting yellow looking fizzy drinks…then enjoy! Maybe it’ll go well with chips?
So yesterday as in Sunday me and my boyfriend went to his sister’s bbq close to my house. It was an interesting experience meeting new people and all. This is the first time i ever went to an all spanish bbq, it was like none other..i didn’t see anything that was healthy on the table but what’s there to complain about?
